Method of manufacture of a snow gliding board, whose external surface, lower or upper, has portions in relief

The procedure consists of positioning plates (7) of an expandable closed-cell foam material, cut to the dimensions of a required surface bulge (5), in a traditional mould between an outer plastic skin (8) and the layer (9) immediate adjacent to it. The plates are between 1 and 5 mm thick, and measure 10 - 30 mm long by 10 - 20 mm wide. Once the assembly, including a core (10), has been removed from the mould following heating and compression, and has been cooled, sanded and/or polished, the zones containing the plates (7) are heated to a temperature of about 60 deg C for some 10 minutes to soften the outer skin and cause the plates to expand, making the bulges appear. The assembly is then cooled again.
