The plant protector is formed from a plate (1), which is rolled to form a cylinder, with open ends. The plate has oval shaped holes (2) along two opposite edges, such that when the plate is rolled the holes align with the holes on the opposite edge and a metal rod (3) is pushed through the holes to secure the cylinder. The rod is sufficiently rigid to allow it to be pushed into the ground to secure the protector in place.
