The lid (1) has folds over its periphery defining an inverted U transverse section forming an annular cavity (11). The section outer web (12) has an intermediate step (13) differentiating two section (14,15). The web comprises an outward longitudinal projection (16) near the step. The container (2) has near its mouth (21) an outward folding rim comprising a U-shaped peripheral housing, the outer web (24) of which defines an inward longitudinal projection (25) and its inner web (23) is inclined outwards, except for a part (26) which is parallel to the outer part.
