The electrically powered door lock has a plate (1) on which a sliding bolt (3) is mounted for actuation by a slide (6) connected to an electric motor (14) for movement between locking and release positions. The motor has a screw and nut drive (12,13) with the nut connected (15) to the slide to allow sliding when the nut is between two end positions.
