The method includes evaluating the individual variation for each cylinder as a function of the functioning point, and of the measure (S) of the probe e.g. a lambda probe, and deducting a closed correction loop specific for each cylinder. The engine (1) has a fuel injector (3) and an exhaust conduit disposed in the cylinder exit, and a probe (4) disposed in this conduit. The probe forms a signal representative of the richness of the exhaust gas (Rg) and applies it to a computer.
