The vibration damper consists of a streamlined fairing (1) fitted round the leg (3) of a hydrofoil craft and connected to a pivot (2) at the front of the leg so that it can turn through some degrees relative to the leg and align itself with the water flow round it. The pivot is situated in front of the fairing's hydrodynamic centre and prevents any lift being created by the flow of water round the leg.
