The connector (1) for mounting lower rails (3) under the top rail (23) of a crash barrier has bars or sleeves (4) which fit into the lower rails or into which the rails fit. The top of the connector is contoured to fit over the rear of the top rail. Independent claims are included for: (a) a barrier with lower bars mounted using the connector; (b) a crash barrier with lower bars mounted using the connector; and (c) a method for making the connector by molding plastic, especially by rotational molding.
