The print impression surface parts (20,22,26,28,30) have a predetermined distributed and geometric hollow structures (12,14,16,18) in the printing surface. The maximum effective thickness (x) for the flexing behavior of the operating flexible layer of the impression strip (10) is less than the thickness (y) of the operating flexible layer. The impression surfaces, which transfer 100 per cent the color shades, are spread over a large number of impression parts (20,22).. The impression parts are linked by sections forming a bridge (24) whose thickness determines the effective maximum section thickness (x). The (x) section thickness is 40 per cent of the thickness (y). The impression strip is made from a material whose Modulus of Elasticity is between 1000 and 21000 Newton's per millimeter squared. The impression strip has a preformed hollow cylinder shape or part of a hollow cylinder .
