A worktable for a wood carving machine comprises a platform 31 provided with two stationary brackets 34 and an adjust screw rod 35 engaged with the brackets. A positioning device 41 is provided with a bracket 45 which also engages with the adjust screw rod to enable the positioning device to be moved to adjust the position of a workpiece. A clamping device 50 for holding the workpiece is mounted on the positioning device which comprises a positioning plate 52, and includes an eccentric roller 515 which is rotatably arranged on an upper edge of the positioning device. Preferably the clamping device is slidably movable by at least one handle 57, 58 along an axle 44 of the positioning device. A holder (70, fig 9) may also be provided which includes an L-shaped rod (71, fig 9) which can be adjusted for holding a workpiece. Preferably a cutter (61, fig 7) extends upwardly through a centre hole (311, fig 7) of a core plate 33.
