PURPOSE: To provide the subject device capable of always maintaining a prescribed amount of a koji (malted rice) substrate in a uniform piling layer thickness by disposing a koji substrate-sensing sensor on a leveling device for maintaining the piled layer thickness of the koji substrate in a prescribed thickness and subsequently vertically changing the position of the piling device in response to the amount of the koji substrate. ;CONSTITUTION: An automatic piling device 4 is disposed on a culture bed 3 fixed to a rotation center shaft 2, and a sensor 1 capable of being vertically moved with a driving device 7 is disposed on the automatic piling device 4 to sense the presence or absence of the koji substrate 5 with the sensor 1 and vertically move the automatic piling device. Even when the koji substrate is charged at a place near to the outer periphery of the culture bed, the koji substrate can be carried to the side of the central cylinder with a leveling device 6, and be piled on the culture bed in a uniform density and in a uniform height by the vertical movement of the automatic piling device.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
