Method of forming a coating film excellent for water-based paint resin composition and stain resistance

PURPOSE: To obtain a resin composition for aqueous coating comprising a synthetic resin emulsion and the emulsion of a silicon compound (its partial hydrolysis condensate), and forming weather-resistant coating films suitable for coating building interiors, building exteriors, automobiles, domestic appliances, plastic products, etc. ;CONSTITUTION: This composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of the emulsion of a synthetic resin such as an acrylic resin, and (B) 1-100 pts.wt. of the emulsion of a silicon compound of formula: (R¹O)_4-aSiR_a² (R¹ is a 1-10C alkyl-, a 6-10C aryl, a 7-10C aralkyl; R² is a 1-10C alkyl, a 6-10C aryl, a 7-10C aralkyl, a l-10C alkoxy; (a) is 0-2) and/or its partial hydrolysis condensate. The composition may, if necessary, further be compounded with (C) a curing catalyst such as an organic aluminum compound or an organic tin compound emulsified in the presence of a surfactant in an amount of 0.1-20 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the component B.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
