PURPOSE:To find a tool shape from a product shape and to find a product shape after machining from NC data, a tool shape, and a work shape by utilizing a CAD system. CONSTITUTION:A gear mold model G1 for helical gear forging and a raw material model T1 for a grinding wheel which grinds a twist groove of the gear mold are reproduced on the screen of the CAD system, and while the grinding wheel raw material model T1 is rotated on its axis, parts overlapping with the gear mold model G1 are sequentially removed from the grinding wheel raw material model T1 to generate a three-dimensional model T1-G1 for the grinding wheel. To find the product shape after machining, a work model and a tool model are reproduced on the CAD screen and while the tool model is moved according to the NC data, parts overlapping with the tool model are removed from the work model to generate the three- dimensional model for a product after machining.
