PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyazole precursor composition to be used for electronic components, such as insulating films and liquid crystal orientation films by blending a polyazole precursor, such as a specific polyamide or polyhydrazide, with a curing agent, such as a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound having a specific acid dissociation constant. ;SOLUTION: This polyazole precursor composition is obtained by blending a polyazole precursor composed of at least one of a polyamide having repeating units of formula I (X is a tetravalent organic group; Y is a divalent organic group; R1 and R2 are each OH, SH, an amino or mono-substituted amino) and a polyhydrazine, with an curing agent that is composed of at least one of a (substituted) nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound having an acid dissociation constant pK of 0-8, an amino acid compound, N-acylamino acid compound, and an aromatic compound having two or more substitute groups, such as a COOH group, SO2H group, OH group, SH group, (substituted) amino group, and which is added in a quantity of 0.1mol equivalent or more to 1mol equivalent of repeating units of the polyazole precursor.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
