PURPOSE: To provide an image forming device capable of effectively cleaning residual toner on a transfer/carrying means such as a transfer belt and an intermediate transfer body. ;CONSTITUTION: A high voltage having a polarity(positive) reverse to the electrostatically charged polarities of the toner and a photoreceptor is applied on a discharger 15 installed ahead of the tip of a driving member 12 for driving the transfer belt 6, and after cleaning the residual toner lying on the transfer belt 6 by a brush 21, remaining foreign matter is brought into contact with the photoreceptor 1 and moved onto the photoreceptor 1, then, cleaned by a photoreceptor cleaner 11 before printing is carried out.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
