PURPOSE: To precisely and surely detect a rope dropping-out by providing rope position detecting contactless switches near fixed rope receiving wheels on the most upstream and the most downstream of a plurality of fixed rope receiving wheels provided at each detecting section. ;CONSTITUTION: When a towing type suspended car 12 is absent in a detection section, rope 3 makes contact with fixed rope receiving wheels 5a-5d, and contactless switches A, B are ON. When the car 12 travels within the detecting section, it makes contact with either one of the fixed rope receiving wheels 5a, 5b by a rope gripping part 13, and either one of the contactless switches A, B is necessarily ON. When the contactless switches A, B are simultaneously ON, thus, the dropping-out from the fixed rope receiving wheels 5a-5d is judged. Otherwise, a rope position detecting contactless switch may be provided near the fixed rope receiving wheel 5c or 5b near the center part, and car position detecting contactless switches on the rails on the detecting section advancing side and leaving side, respectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
