PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide indium based oxide fine particles which can provide a transparent electrically conductive film densely charged with the fine particle because of the spherical shape thereof, and can suitably be used, e.g. for a base material with a transparent electrically conductive film having electric conductivity, film strength, durability or the like, and to provide a method of producing the fine particles.;SOLUTION: The indium based oxide fine particles have a mean particle diameter in the range of 2 to 200 nm, and have a substantially spherical particle shape. In the method of producing the indium based oxide fine particles, the pH of an indium hydroxide dispersed solution or a tin and/or fluorine compound- containing indium hydroxide dispersed solution (hereinafter referred to as an indium based hydroxide dispersed solution) is adjusted to 7 to 10 in the case that the concentration of the dispersed solution is 4 wt.% expressed in terms of oxide, and, after that, heat-treatment is performed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
