PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately, easily, and quickly bend steel pipes such as an underground wiring protecting tube at the laying site by measuring the pushing-out amounts in approximately right-angled direction against the axial direction of the steel pipe when steel pipe bending is done. ;SOLUTION: A pipe bender 1 is constituted to bend a steel pipe P set in contact with a couple of right and left steel pipe supports 11 and 11 installed in a turnable way to an equipment frame 10 consisting of metallic plates by pressing a bender head 13 against the steel pipe P from the side opposite to the supports by means of a hydraulic jack 12, and has a pushing scale 2 to measure the push-out amount of the steel pipe P on the top surface of the equipment frame between both supports 11 and 11. Since such a steel pipe bending equipment is provided with the pushing scale 2 to measure the push-out amount of the steel pipe when bending, it can bend the steel pipe at a prescribed angle or radius just by measuring the push-out amount of the steel pipe P when bending, if the push-out amount for the bending angle, bending radius, etc., of the steel pipe P is calculated or measured in advance.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
