PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find a component having a cell activating action, a collagen production promoting action, a hyaluronic acid production promoting action, melanin production inhibiting action, an antioxidative action and the like and to provide a skin care preparation useful for prevention of aging. PSOLUTION: In the skin care preparation, extracts of one or more plants selected from plants of the family of Polytrichaceae are compounded. Particularly, it is desirable to use either one or both of extracts of Polytrichum commune Hedw. and extracts of Polytrichum formosum Hedw. as the extracts of the plant of the family of Polytrichaceae.
