PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for controlling the device to be controlled of an HAVi network system through a non-IEEE1394 network.;SOLUTION: This method comprises a step for installing a non-IEEE1394 communication module and a proxy manager at a control device connected to the HAVi network system, a step for installing a havlet and a client proxy in the control device equipped with the non-IEEE1394 communication module, a step for converting an inputted command into an HAVi message, a step for converting the HAVi message into a message transmittable through the non-IEEE1394 network by the client proxy, and for transmitting it to the proxy manager, and a step for extracting the HAVi message from the message, and for transmitting it to the messaging system of the control device.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
