PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable accurate detection even with a large change in liquid level by picking up from a remote place the image of a water gauge having a plurality of inclined materials fixedly arranged in an up-down direction between two struts erecting at a liquid level measurement place and obtaining a liquid level in the picked-up image from images of the inclined materials. ;SOLUTION: A liquid level-measuring apparatus comprises a water gauge 1, an image pickup means 4 such as a camera or the like, and a processing device 20 carrying out processing of data of image-processing or the like. The camera 4 picking up an image of a part of the water gauge 1 in touch with a liquid face which is set at a liquid level measurement place is disposed on a preset pan-head 10 and is constituted so that a direction thereof can be adjusted in accordance with a liquid level. The processing device 20 comprises a measuring device main body 2 and a data-processing part 3. The measuring device main body 2 includes an image-processing means 5, a preset operation device 8 sending commands to a camera attitude control device 11 thereby controlling an attitude of the camera 4, etc. The water gauge 1 is constituted of a combination of a vertical water gauge and an inclined plate, with scales marked on the inclined plate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
