PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a train class identification device having two functions of the train detection and the train class identification.;SOLUTION: An on-board transmitter of the train transmits the train class identification signal to a loop coil 15 via an on-board antenna. A selection unit 221 extracts the train class identification signal from the signals induced in the loop coil 15, and outputs it to a processing unit 222. The processing unit 222 reads the signal according to the signal mode of the train class identification signal, and outputs the result to a control unit 223. The control unit 223 identifies the train class by the signal input from the processing unit 222 based on the data in a train class identification table 30 stored in a storage unit 224.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
