PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an environmental safeguard type afforestation material which does not exert the adverse influence of compound fertilizers on the surrounding environment, is good for the germination and growth of plants and is useful for landscape architecture, etc., by adding and mixing seeds, mycorrhiza bacterium-contg. materials, nitrogen fixing microorganisms, etc., to and with a specific material mixture. SOLUTION: This material is prepd. by adding and mixing (C) the seeds, (D) preferably 1 to 20wt.% mycorrhiza bacterium-contg. materials and (E) =1 materials selected from the nitrogen fixing microorganisms, such as leguminous bacteria, trace essential nutrients, such as calcium, necessary for plant growth, microorganism activators, such as sodium alginate, acidic soil neutralizers, such as calcium silicate, and plant growth accelerators, such as vitamins, to and with the material mixture formed by mixing (A) preferably 30 to 60% materials of an org. system mainly consisting of bark compost, peat-moss, etc., and (B) preferably 10 to 30% materials of an inorg. system mainly consisting of black soil, perlite, zeolite, etc.
