PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recovering apparatus which continuously and efficiently recovers zinc oxide from iron making dust contg. low-concn. zinc. SOLUTION: This recovering apparatus consists of a reaction furnace 32 which is charged with agglomerated iron making dust 22, heats and reduces the agglomerated dust, recovers the iron-component thereof into molten iron 33, evaporates the reduced zinc and holds the molten iron 33 to be made into the zinc oxide and a recovering means for recovering the zinc oxide. In such a case, this reaction furnace 32 has a means for heating agglomerated dust 22 and molten iron 33 and a means for stirring the molten iron 33. Two or more heating burners installed in the upper part of the reaction furnace 32 are used as the means for heating the molten iron 33 and the means for stirring the molten iron.
