PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymeric material having characteristics selectively capturing or separating a functional compd. (harmful molecule) such as bisphenol A. SOLUTION: Reactive compds. containing at least a host monomer such as 4-vinylpyridine, 1-vinylimidazole or 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate and a crosslinking monomer are polymerized in the presence of a functional compd. such as bisphenol A and the functional compd. is removed from the obtained reaction polymer to obtain a polymeric material having characteristics selectively capturing or separating a functional compd. from a chemical material containing the functional compd. The polymeric material is conditioned especially by low-molecular wt. alcohol or water-containing low-molecular wt. alcohol.
