PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems in the analysis of an objective substance that previous separating materials and extracting agents tend to have a nonselective interaction with an objective substance, or enormous time and cost are required due to the necessity for detailed investigation on conditions of e.g. extraction and washing so that many problems are encountered in previous techniques for quick and simple analysis of an objective substance. PSOLUTION: This polymeric material is obtained by reacting an objective substance having functional groups A and B with a reactive compound in the presence of a pseudomolecule which has functional groups a and b respectively capable of undergoing interactions with the functional groups A and B and of which the distance between the functional groups a and b, or the distance between the constituent atom of the functional group a and the constituent atom of the functional group b is equal or close to the distance between the functional groups A and B or the distance between the constituent atom of the functional group A and the constituent atom of the functional group B, and removing the pseudomolecule from the reaction product. The obtained polymeric material is provided with a feature of catching or separating an objective substance by adding it to or bringing it into contact with an object containing the objective substance.
