Experimental animal eyesight measuring device and eyesight measuring method

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device having the capability of easily and accurately measuring the visual acuity change of each type of an experimental animal including a rat, and a visual acuity measurement method using the device. SOLUTION: A rectangular box 10 made of four blackboards 11 to 14 is internally divided into two rooms 31 and 32 via a black division 20, and this division 20 has an opening 21 allowing the travel of an experimental animal as well as an open/close door therefor. Also, a visual acuity measurement device enabling a transparent top plate 41 and a black top plate 42 to be laid is installed at each upper part of the two rooms 31 and 32 and used for repeatedly and continuously measuring a time for the experimental animal to travel from a light room to a dark room. Then, an animal's visual acuity is evaluated, using a travel time in each trial as an index.
