PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical axis adjusting method and optical axis adjusting device for a wavelength dispersion compensator and an assembling method for the wavelength dispersion compensator which actualizes an accurate wavelength dispersion characteristic of the wavelength dispersion compensator by adjusting the center axis of an aspherical surface mirror constituting the wavelength dispersion compensator to an accurate direction.;SOLUTION: Reflected light from the aspherical surface mirror which is obtained by irradiating the aspherical surface mirror with parallel light from a Z-axis direction is used to adjust the angle between the normal to the center axis of the aspherical surface mirror and the Z axis, the angle between the center axis of the aspherical surface mirror and an X axis, and the angle between a travel axis, obtained by detecting a reference position on a moving stage mounted with the aspherical surface mirror by irradiating the moving stage with light from the Z-axis direction and finding the moving vector of the reference position by moving the stage, and a Y axis.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
