PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment apparatus under reduced pressure which can treat environmentally hazardous organic chemicals impregnated on a wall surface before scrapping an incinerator, and to provide a heat treatment method under reduced pressure there for.;SOLUTION: The treatment apparatus heats and decomposes the environmentally hazardous organic chemicals existing on the wall surface W. The treatment apparatus comprises a heating container 10 whose one end is arranged to face the wall surface W, a heating means 15 arranged between the one end and the wall surface W, a heat-resistant seal means 16 for airtightly sealing a space between the one end of the heating container 10 and the wall surfaces W, and an evacuation means 30 for evacuating a heating chamber formed of the one end of the heating container 10, the wall surface W and the heat-resistant seal means 16. The heating means 15 raises the temperature of the wall surface W and the inside of the heating chamber to 650°C or more, and maintains the wall surface W and the inside of the heating furnace at 650°C or more.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
