DISK TRAY FOR DECREASING VIBRATION AND NOISE IN OPTICAL DISK DRIVE, AND OPTICAL DISK DRIVE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress influence on recording and reproducing characteristics by noise and vibration generated by friction between an optical disk that rotates at a high velocity and air, resistance of air, and high velocity turbulent air flow, etc.;SOLUTION: A disk tray includes: the disk tray 300 having a seating surface on which the optical disk 190 is to be seated, provided so as to be freely taken in and out of an optical disk drive 390; a window 310 bored through the seating surface so as to enable the access of an optical pickup apparatus to record or reproduce information to/from the optical disk; and a projection part 320 as a vortex restraint means which spatially restrains a vortex generated by a rotation of the optical disk at the window. By such constitution, the vibration and the noise by the high velocity rotation of the optical disk are reduced and the optical disk drive capable of high velocity and high density recording and reproduction is realized.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
