METHOD FOR CULTIVATING/PRODUCING BRANCHED STEM FOR SEEDLING OF SUGAR CANE

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain branched stems for seedlings of sugar canes by concentrically and intensively growing many second, third or fourth branched stems at the knotted portions of a sugar cane stem (mother stem). PSOLUTION: The method for cultivating/producing branched stems for seedlings of sugar canes comprises cutting off a first branched stem in the middle of the portion where a fourth spore and a fifth spore overlap each other when a first axillary bud germinating at the knot of a mother stem in which an upper side stem including a growing point of a terminal bud is cut off, grows to have at least 7 developed leaves, so as to leave only the base part of the first branched stem at the adherent part of each knot of the mother stem; growing a second axillary bud germinating at the knot of the base part of the first branched stem to make a second branched stem; concentrically growing many second branched stems at the base part of the first branched stem to make a second branched stem mass; cutting off the entire of the first branched stem mass at the adherent part of the mother stem by cutting off the base part of the first branched stem from the adherent part of the mother stem; and cutting off the second branched stem with the tissues of each bud base and root base attached.
