PURPOSE: To realize a magnetic head which can be easily and precisely positioned and a platen unit therefor, and particularly facilitate the azimuth regulation. ;CONSTITUTION: A magnetic head 11 is slid on a film 103 having a magnetic memory part 103a, whereby certain information is written on or read from the magnetic recording part 103a. The magnetic head 11 has a fitting circumferential part on a part of the outer circumference, and a notch part is formed in a position close to the fitting circumferential part. The magnetic head 11 has a pair of the notch parts on the diagonals or in point symmetric positions. A platen 107 has an installing hole 12 freely fitted to the magnetic head 11, an opening part 13 fitted to the fitting circumferential part of the magnetic head 1 to expose a prescribed part of the magnetic head 11, a recess part formed so as to set a fixed space with the side part of the installed magnetic head 11, and a notch part 18 formed in conformation to the notch part of the magnetic head 11.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
