PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing a surface modified film having a layer of a modifier uniformly present in the face direction of a substrate film, and a method for producing the surface modified film.;SOLUTION: The method for producing the surface modified film having the layer composed of the modifier formed on the surface of the substrate film comprises a coating film-forming step of using a dispersion obtained by dispersing the modifier in a dispersion medium and spreading the dispersion on at least one surface of the moving substrate film to form a ≤5 μm-thick coating film by the dispersion and using a bar member whose surface is substantially smooth in the above coating film-forming step.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
