FAILURE RESISTANCE AGREEING TECHNIQUE AND ASYNCHRONOUS COMMON OBJECT SYSTEM FOR GUARANTEEING ITS HIGH SPEED OPERATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain an agreement at a high speed without competition even if a failure processor exists between a plurality of asynchronously operating processors.;SOLUTION: The competition is caused by waiting for acquisition of one resource for attaining the agreement even if failure exists between the plurality of processors. It is difficult to obtain failure resistance by a complicated mechanism such as a multiple write-in/multiple readout common object introduced for avoiding the competition. A proposing technique can obtain the agreement without competition in a finite step even if there exists stopping failure of the optional number of processors by limiting the function of a common binary variable array capable of single write-in/multiple readout and the function of a common binary variable array capable of multiple write-in/multiple readout with a common variable array capable of single write-in/multiple readout as a basic element.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
