PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eccentric brace support structure for columns/beams and its design method capable of retaining a prescribed rigidity without enlarging a vibration absorbing panel unnecessarily by appropriately evaluating the rigidity of a damper system comprising the vibration absorbing panels and braces in a frame having the columns, the beams, and the braces.;SOLUTION: The rigidity of the damper system comprising the vibration absorbing panels and the braces is evaluated by taking account of shear deformation of a beam side panel. The braces are so disposed that the intersection of the axes of a pair of braces is positioned at a distance from 10% to 70% of the sum (dB/2+dS) of 1/2 of the height (dB) of the beam and the height (dS) of the vibration absorbing panel from the axis of the beam.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
