PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Ema (votive picture of a horse) which is generally used to state the optative and requital sentences of a favor in shrines and temples, takes the prayers' privacy into consideration by avoiding the state of exposing the optative sentence surface to the outside, and looks well in blazonry by recognizing the Ema anew as a votive offering to Shinto and Buddhist deities.;SOLUTION: The point on a surface stated with the optative sentence is avoided from existing on the outside surface in the entire configuration to avoid the exposure of the optative sentence surface to the outside. Namely, the point stated with the optative sentence is covered. The means include a number of variations and, for example, techniques of attaching a cover to the Ema and of mating two plates are used. The Ema is otherwise formed by breaking down the plate of the Ema to several parts and recombining these parts, and at this time, the point to be formed as an inside surface by the combination is used as the point for stating the optative sentences.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
