PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spline and a continuously variable transmission having the spline for preventing breakage of a snap ring and smoothly moving a pulley movable part towards a shaft.;SOLUTION: This invention relates to the spline 10 and the continuously variable transmission 60 having the spline. The spline 10 comprises at least one of spline grooves 12, 13 extending in an axial direction and formed to a shaft 20 and a pulley movable part 31 movably supported in an axial direction by the shaft 20, respectively, and a plurality of torque transmitting members 11 fitted in the spline grooves 12, 13 and arranged in a longitudinal direction of the spline groove, and transmits the torque between the shaft 20 and the pulley movable part 31. A torque transmitting member positioned at one end of torque transmitting member trains arranged in the longitudinal direction of the spline is transformed into a cylinder element 11A, and the remaining torque transmitting members are used as sphere members 11B as they are.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
