PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a semiconductor laser pumping solid-state laser amplifier which can stably generated high output and a high-quality laser beam.;SOLUTION: The semiconductor laser pumping solid-state laser amplifier is provided with a rod-like solid-state laser medium having a major axis in the optical axis direction of the laser beam, a heat sink provided along the major axis of the solid-state laser medium, a plurality of semiconductor lasers fixed on the heat sink, a refrigerant flow passage dug so as to pass the vicinity of a part to, which the semiconductor laser is fixed inside the heat sink and having openings respectively to parts, corresponding to an approximately central part and to an approximately end part in the major axis direction of the solid-state laser medium, and a cooler provided with a refrigerant send out port and a refrigerant recovery port. The semiconductor laser pumping solid-state laser amplifier is constituted so that the refrigerant send out port is connected to the opening of the refrigerant flow passage, corresponding to the approximately central part in the major axis direction of the solid-state laser medium and the opening of the refrigerant flow passage, corresponding to the approximately end part in the major axis direction of the solid-state laser medium is connected to the refrigerant recovering port.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
