PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scan electrode driving device of an AC plasma display panel and its driving method in which the constitution of a scan electrode driving circuit is made simple, the production unit price is reduced, heat loss of a switch caused by current flow is reduced and sustaining pulses are advantageously generated.;SOLUTION: The device includes an electronic power recovering section which supplies electric power to a panel capacitor in order to apply waveforms for sustaining discharging, recovers the supplied power and reuses the power, a ramp waveform applying section which supplies pulse signals to reset the states of discharging cells in a reset interval and a scan pulse generating section which supplies pulse signals to accumulate wall electric charges to the discharging cells that are being addressed in a scan interval. A first current path that transmits the pulses, through which the ramp waveform applying section resets the states of the cells, to the panel capacitor and a second current path which recovers electric power from the panel capacitor are separated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
