PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a troubleshooting data providing method and a troubleshooting data providing server adopting the method that, when a failure occurs to a customer's product of household electrical appliance, automobile or the like, use a retrieved system on a network to perform a failure analysis retrieval for the identification of the cause of the failure, a necessary repair technique, a necessary replacement part or the like and gives a worker guidance on the necessary repair technique, thereby permitting to improve the working efficiency.;SOLUTION: After accepting the input of a trouble instance text, this method analyzes the trouble instance text, creates a reply text based on the analysis result, and calculates the expense of the replacement part involved in the reply text to generate the reply text and the calculated expense as display data, thus providing troubleshooting data. By adding a troubleshooting function in the retrieval system, it becomes possible to quickly draw the information on a part and repair while making a diagnosis of the symptom.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
