USED BOOK BUYING/SELLING SYSTEM USING CONVENIENCE STORE AND INTERNET NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for buying and selling a used book in which a physical distribution function of a convenience store is connected with an online shopping function of the Internet.;SOLUTION: When buying the used book in the convenience store, a POS terminal reads out an ISBN code put on the used book. Based on the read-out ISBN code and assessment information with respect to a buying price stored in a used book assessment database, the buying price of the used book is determined. When a user purchases the used book, the user accesses a Web server through a communication line network. A used book stock database is searched to find whether the used book desired for purchase is in stock. When there is the desired used book, the order of the purchaser is accepted. When a buying transaction of the used book is concluded, the used book is collected and delivered in a physical distribution base by a distribution car of the convenience store. When the sales transaction of the used book is concluded, the used book is delivered by the distribution car of the convenience store from the physical distribution base to the convenience store designated by the purchaser.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
