PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for registering the fancy pattern of a transmission image and a method and an apparatus for reproducing the same in which a number of patterns for improving the amusement property of a display image on an image display part during communications mutually between communication devices such as portable telephones can be easily registered to be freely used by persons in communication and the modification pattern dedicated to the person concerned can be abundantly prepared. PSOLUTION: While the first communication device provided with an image display part for the person in communication and the second communication device provided with an image display part for a communicating party mutually communicate via a repeater station, contents attached pith the modification pattern for modifying the transmission image to be displayed on the image display part in the communication device of the communicating party are read, the modification pattern is copied from the read contents and the copied modification pattern is registered availably for the person in communication or for the first communication device.
