PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for detecting hydrogen gas, under aerobic and anaerobic environments. ;SOLUTION: In the method for detecting the hydrogen gas under both the aerobic and anaerobic environment with a plurality of sensors, oxygen is detected at a measurement point, the size of a detection signal is compared and determined with a reference value, by the result either one characteristic change, in which oxide is reduced by hydrogen or the other characteristic change in which palladium absorbs hydrogen is selected to be detected; and hydrogen gas concentration is calculated at a measurement point by the characteristic change and the oxygen concentration.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
