PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a generating apparatus for retrieval input part, a presenting apparatus for retrieval result and the like to support generation of a retrieval demanding sentence when a user does not have a clear retrieval demand or does not come up with an idea of a sentence. ;SOLUTION: In a generating apparatus for retrieval demand sentence, a set of an impression representing word and a noun clause is retrieved by merging document data attached to retrieval information. A noun with high frequency of overlap is adopted as an evaluation point of view to present a tree structure to the user by taking the evaluation viewpoint as a master and a word connected to the evaluation viewpoint as a slave. The user can generate a retrieval input sentence by selecting a set of an impression representing word and a noun clause from the tree structure. In the result display apparatus, differences between the first and second and subsequent retrieval ranks in reference to the set of the impression representing word and the noun clause is displayed. If there is an impression representing word not connected to the noun phrase in the retrieval input sentence and retrieval object, a set of an impression representing word and a noun clause is generated by adding an appropriate noun clause to the impression representing word to be used for retrieval.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
