PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smooth response surface methodology (SRS) algorithm. SOLUTION: This smooth response surface methodology (SRS) algorithm is provided as a high-grade data processing technology not only for analyzing gene expression data but also for calculatingly constructing genetic control network. The three dimensional smooth response surface method is provided so as to comprehend biological relations between a target and an activator-repressor. This new technology is used to functionally explain activators, repressors and target triplets and their control in gene expression data. The SRS algorithm has a built-in diagnostic strategy and assessed the score of the triplets, the low sore triplet is stored and the control network is constructed based on the data and existing biological information. The expectation based on identified triplets of two yeast expression data is matched with experimental data listed in a literature. A new model for making algorithm, having attractive mathematical and statistical characteristics and useful not only for determining functions of uncharacterized proteins but also for expressing or searching for accumulated information in analysis of gene expression for more accurate comprehension of logically regulating process is also provided.
