PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a swallowing auxiliary product capable of simply and surely preparing a swallowing auxiliary food in the form of a viscous substance by anyone and a method for preparing the swallowing auxiliary food. SOLUTION: This swallowing auxiliary food comprises a preparation 15 to be the swallowing auxiliary food in the form of the viscous substance when absorbing water and a preparing container 10 containing the preparation 15 sealed therein and capable of hermetically sealing the interior thereof in a liquidtight state. The preparation 15 is converted into the swallowing auxiliary food in the form of the viscous substance by placing a liquid in the interior of the preparing container 10 and shaking the container 10. Since the swallowing auxiliary food in the form of the viscous substance can be prepared simply by placing the liquid in the preparing container 10 and shaking the container 10, the swallowing auxiliary food in the form of the viscous substance can simply and surely be prepared even by a person having disorder in swallowing functions. When a food, a medicine, etc., are placed in the preparing container 10 and mixed with the preparation 15 before placing the liquid therein, the swallowing auxiliary food in the form of the viscous substance added with the desired food, etc., can be prepared.
