POSITRON ANNIHILATION GAMMA-RAY MEASURING METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positron annihilation gamma-ray measuring method and device that can eliminate components of a positron annihilation gamma-rays generated outside of a measuring object. ;SOLUTION: This device is provided with a positron source 1 arranged facing the measuring objects 9a, 9b to radiate positrons; detectors 13a, 13b installed around the positron source 1 and the measuring objects 9a, 9b excluding spaces between the positron source 1 and the measuring objects 9a, 9b, to detect the positrons not annihilated at the positron source 1 and the measuring objects 9a, 9b; detectors 4a, 4b for detecting gamma-rays generated when the positrons radiated from the positron source 1 are annihilated; a coincidence gate 10 for determining that there is the simultaneity of signals outputted from the detectors 13a, 13b and signals outputted from the detectors 4a, 4b; and a memory 12 for measuring and storing detection signals, discriminating the detection signals outputted from the detectors 4a, 4b in the case of determining that there is no simultaneity by an anti-coincidence gate 15 and analog-to-digital converters 11a, 11b, from the detection signals outputted from the detectors 4a, 4b in the case of determining that there is simultaneity.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
