PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent use of a forged card. SOLUTION: This forged card discriminating system is provided with an embossment reading part 125c for detecting an embossed pattern of an embossing finish part formed on a main surface of a magnetic card, a hologram reading part 125d for detecting a hologram formed on the main surface of the magnetic card, a microcharacter reading part 125d for detecting a microcharacter formed on the main surface of the magnetic card, magnetic code reading parts 125a and 125b for reading a magnetic code arranged on the main surface and the reverse of the magnetic card, and a processor 127 for determining whether or not the magnetic card is forged on the basis of data detected by reading parts 125a to 125e. A determining result is outputted to an operation server 4, and when the processor 127 detects the occurrence of abnormality, or when receiving function stopping request data from the operation server 4, the function of the processor 127 is stopped.
