PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forged card detection system capable of more detecting the use of a forged card, without fail.SOLUTION: A picture image comparing and determining section 11b of the forged card detection system 10, built into an ATM 1, reads a card picture image of an inserted card by a card image sensor 12; extracts the feature of the card picture image of the inserted card; compares the feature with the features of card picture images of the forged cards of the past that are registered beforehand in a forged card determination condition storage memory 11a; and transfers, when the similarity of both features exceeds a predetermined similarity threshold, a diagnostic result indicating that the inserted card has the possibility of a forged card as alarm information, with the card picture image to a management section server 20 of a management section for performing the final genuineness determination of the inserted card, and sends, when a determination result showing that it is a forged card is returned from the management desectionment server 20, instruction to make transaction by the inserted card to a card control section 2 stop.
