PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find a solution having a large fitness value on the stage of a small generation value even for a large-scale intricate problem by using genetic algorithm.;SOLUTION: A reproduction/crossover processing part 35, a mutation processing part 36, and a proximity search processing part 37 perform different operations for a group of solution candidates in a memory 33 and an evaluation and observation processing part 38 and a transition control processing part 39 observe a process of searching based upon a combination of respective operations of those processing parts by using a fitness value and selectively combine the respective operations to cause the state transition of a problem solving arithmetic unit from a current state to a different state.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
