PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casting and forging method for an aluminum alloy, and the aluminum alloy for the casting and forging, satisfactory in castability, and advantageous for improving the mechanical property after the forging. ;SOLUTION: Using a mold 1 having a first cavity 11 approximating to a final product shape, a molten metal is poured into the first cavity 11 of the mold 1, and solidified to form an approximately shaped casting material having a shape approximating to the final product shape. The approximately shaped casting material is forged by strong pressure. The mold has a second cavity 12 communicating with the first cavity, and in the forging process, the molten metal of the first cavity 11 is solidified in a early stage, while contriving the directive solidification so that the solidification of the second cavity 12 may be delayed. The aluminum alloy has the constitution of Si: 3.0-4.2 wt.%, Mg: 0.4-0.6 wt.%, Cu: 0.4-0.7 wt.%, Fe: 0.2 wt.% or less, the total amount of Zn, Mn, Ni, Sn, Cr: 0.5 wt.% or less, and the residual comprising inevitable impurity and Al.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
